The refrigerator has door cooling systems which makes use of vents in the freezer and fridge door to push cold air in. It prevents hot spots and helps keep temperatures consistent throughout the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It offers ample space to serve a family, but we did notice a few irritating quirks. First the freezer drawers do not remain at the temperature we'd like. The temperature of the middle drawer climbed to 41° during our highest use test, which is enough to freeze ice cream or other frozen food items. The temperature in the rest of your freezer was at around 36 degrees.
Another issue is that refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken both on the inside and under, which make it hard for those who are smaller to guide them closed. It may seem like a minor issue, but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, as they are easier to open and close.
This fridge is expensive however it is worth it for those who want a sleek look in their kitchen. This refrigerator is recommended for those who want to upgrade their existing fridge or are building new homes and want to have a seamless kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's latest counter-depth French-door refrigerator called the RF23M8090SG, is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also did well in our cooling test, however we aren't fans of the gimmicky handles or plastic crisper bins.
One thing that sets the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line that lets you personalize your fridge by removing colored panels that can be swapped when you're bored of the current ones. There are 11 different colors including soft pastels, more vibrant hues, and four metallic finishes. Some of the panels can be customized by adding photos or text making the fridge a personal touch point that can match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
You can even alter the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is nice. The interior of the fridge has an intelligent finish that reduces the appearance of smudges and makes cleaning easier. The only downsides of the RF23M8090SG are its slightly cramped beverage center as well as some learning curve in opening the door-in-door feature that houses a water pitcher and a dispenser. You have to feel for an unmarked lever on the underside of the door halfway across, and once you do, it opens an additional door inside the fridge that contains the pitcher docking station along with the water dispenser as well as two shelves for drinks.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators give an elegant look to any kitchen, and they fit well in various sizes of rooms. If you want the convenience of this design without the height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the best option. We've tried a variety of them, and this particular Frigidaire model has earned an above-average score in our ratings for its affordable price and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
It also has a few annoying issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF is able to warm up quite some in the freezer, and could get uncomfortable warm on the refrigerator's outermost shelves. This is evident in our heat maps which show how the internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The butter bin in the orange section on the right is especially warm during our test period. It might not appear too bad at first but it's a sign that the fridge is spending a large portion of its time above 33 degrees.
It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model. This could be a factor for certain buyers. The main issue is that the fridge isn't very good. It's lacking advanced features and a durable construction, making it difficult to recommend it over more expensive models at this price.
In many ways, this Frigidaire looks and feels like the stainless steel version of a fridge that you might see on display at your local appliance store. It's a good choice with a brushed finish that looks great and is impervious to streaks. However it's not offering much to distinguish itself from its competitors that are more feature-rich and more affordable.
If you're seeking a counter-depth French door fridge, but don't want spend an excessive amount of money then the FGHC2331PF could be worth a look. It has enough storage to meet the requirements of most families and does an excellent job keeping food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient model, it won't have the same price tag the same amount as our top-rated models do.
